2013: CHIJTINIMIT, GUATEMALA

“The village behind town" Chijtinimit is 10 miles outside of Chichicastenango. Bare Hands planted various fruit trees alongside 350 families in the village. Educational seminars were given to train them in young fruit establishment, pruning, composting for organic fertilizers, and utilizing mulch for moisture retention.

Bare Hands partnered with EcoFiltro to create a cost sharing program. This allowed families to purchase EcoFiltro’s water filters at 50% of normal cost.
