2014: PATZIBAL, GUATEMALA

Many of the surviving men of this village have fallen subject to violence and alcohol abuse following the Guatemalan genocide. This resulted many abandoned families. Bare Hands focus was to build structure for the future boys and girls to be able to break the cycle and create a healthy and meaningful way of life through food sustainability. We educated the people on how to manage the young fruit trees planted. The community has experienced a new income source from fruit sales.

Bare Hands also partnered with EcoFiltro to provide water filters at 50% of normal cost. BH worked with 270 families in this village.
